Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of DON'T PRESS THE BUTTON (the “Service”), operated by Don't Press The Button (“Operator”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, watching, bidding, or paying, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Payment Disclosure, Digital Delivery Policy, Responsible Use, and Disclaimer.

1. What this product is

The Service is a paid entertainment / digital status product. Users may pay a bid amount to become the temporary public “holder” of a virtual button displayed on the website. Holding the button may include cosmetic display of a username, optional promotional URL/pitch, shareable claim pages, and non-cash spectacle events (visuals, shields, price modifiers).

You do not receive money, cryptocurrency, vouchers, merchandise of monetary prize value, investment returns, or any gambling payout. Successful payment delivers the digital experience described at checkout — temporary status on the Service until another user pays a higher qualifying bid (or until the Operator ends or resets a round for operational/legal reasons).

2. What this product is not

• Not a lottery, raffle, sweepstake, or prize contest.
• Not a casino, betting exchange, fantasy sports contest for cash prizes, or skill-based cash game paying out stakes.
• Not a financial instrument, security, deposit, or investment scheme.
• Not real-world ownership of any physical object, trademark, or intellectual property beyond the limited licence below.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 18 years old (or the higher age of majority in your place of residence). You confirm this at registration. We may require additional age or identity checks. If you are under the required age, do not use the Service and do not pay.

The Service may be unavailable or payments disabled in certain regions (“restricted regions”) configured by the Operator. You are responsible for complying with local laws where you live.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure. One person should not create multiple accounts to abuse referrals, evade bans, or manipulate ownership. We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, chargebacks abuse, harassment, security attacks, or Terms violations.

5. Bids, ownership, and events

Takeovers require a successful payment processed by our payment partner. The server validates that your bid exceeds the current holder price by the configured whole-dollar (or whole-currency-unit) increment. Concurrent payments: only one takeover succeeds; losers are refunded under the Refund Policy.

“Ownership” means temporary digital display status on the Service. It ends when another qualifying bid succeeds, when a round is closed by the Operator, or when required by law or security. Random or scheduled “events” are cosmetic / gameplay modifiers only — they never pay cash to users.

6. Promotional links while holding

While you hold the button, you may optionally display a website URL and short pitch. You represent that you own or are authorised to promote that content, that it is lawful, and that it does not contain illegal, deceptive, hateful, or infringing material; malicious or harmful URLs (including phishing, malware, scam, or deceptive destination sites); or NSFW, sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-only content. We may remove promotional content and/or revoke ownership display without refund if it violates these Terms or applicable law.

7. Fees and taxes

Prices are shown at checkout in the currency configured for the Service. You authorise the charge for the selected bid. Applicable taxes (including GST in India where required) may be included in or added to the price as required by law and as shown at payment. Keep your own records for personal tax obligations.

8. Acceptable use

You must not: attack or scrape the Service; reverse engineer payment flows to bypass eligibility; use bots for fake presence/referrals; launder funds; promote illegal goods; post, link to, or display malicious product URLs (including phishing, malware, scam, deceptive, or otherwise harmful destination sites); post, link to, or display NSFW, sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-only content through the Service or any promotional link while holding; or use the Service for any purpose prohibited by Dodo Payments' or other payment partners' acceptable use policies.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, brand, and UI are owned by the Operator or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the Service for entertainment. Your username and optional promo content remain yours, but you grant us a worldwide licence to display them in connection with the Service.

10. Disclaimers and liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, that you will remain holder for any duration, or that promotional traffic will result.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator’s aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim in the 90 days before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations — in those places, liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts of India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence that cannot be waived.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after posting constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
